When Wisconsin High School closed in 1964, it merged with Madison Central High School, which then became known as Central-University High School.
Central-University High School closed in 1969 and its
Cass Gilbert-designed building was razed to make way for an MATC parking lot. But at least Central alumni have a visible symbol of their school in the Central arch on Wisconsin Avenue (shown in the
previous post).
